HALLANDALE BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A section of a building partially collapsed in Hallandale Beach Thursday morning, trapping two vehicles beneath the rubble, according to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.
Crews responded to 1250 East Hallandale Beach Blvd. at approximately 10:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a structural collapse.
Both vehicles were unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
A structural engineer from the City of Hallandale Beach and a representative from the building’s management team were on site conducting an assessment to determine the extent of the damage.
Officials said it had not yet been determined when, or if, residents would be permitted to reenter the building.
The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
