Police seek suspect in $15K purse theft

Authorities released photos of a man and a vehicle connected to a theft at Sweet Jane’s Designer Consignment.

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of stealing $15,000 worth of purses from a small local business.

According to a Facebook post by the Worcester Police Department, the alleged theft occurred last week at Sweet Jane’s Designer Consignment, located at 120 Main St.

WPD did not provide specific details about the exact timing of the incident.

Surveillance images released Monday showed a person with a handful of items. The person is wearing a winter coat and hat in the picture. The suspect looks to be wearing a winter coat and winter hat at the time of the incident.

Worcester police also released a surveillance image of a car they believe to be connected to the theft.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the individual or the vehicle to contact the Worcester Police Department. Tips can be submitted by phone at 509-799-8651, or via text to CRIMES (9274637).
