In Greater Boston’s dining scene, there’s always a new restaurant opening to celebrate or a fresh update coming to one of the city’s delicious eateries. In the months ahead, we have major restaurant openings from Michelin chefs and famous New York restaurateurs, as well as a swell of diverse and delicious smaller restaurants joining our neighborhoods.
Each week, Boston.com will highlight the restaurant openings worth knowing about across the region. Some spots will already be open, while others are set to debut in 2026. At least one featured restaurant will always be a bonus item — either a pop-up, a collaboration, or event at area restaurants.

What’s new in Greater Boston restaurant openings this week
Avra Estiatorio
Another outside, upscale restaurant is expanding into Boston, this time a New York-based Greek restaurant that adds to Lyrik Back Bay’s collection of restaurants and cafes. The space is massive and worthy of occasions, seating 250 people, and the restaurant serves a menu that focuses on Aegean coastal cuisine (as seen by its in-restaurant fish market), seasonal vegetables, and a wine and cocktail program.

When Americans think of Montreal cuisine, maybe gravy-smothered cheese curds come to mind. But, one of the world’s hottest dining scenes has more to offer than poutine, and the Coda Restaurant Group (Baleia, Salty Pig, SRV, Gufo) wants to bring that relaxed, yet high-caliber culinary landscape to Celine, named after Quebec’s own Celine Dion. Menu details are limited right now, but expect a top-notch bar program, artisanal cheese, steak tartare, and a delicious cheeseburger.

The South End just gained an intimate restaurant experience that offers a few tasting menus a week, like a classic one with wine pairings on Friday and Saturday, or the Wednesday 3-2-1, a chef-driven event that includes three small plates and two glasses of wine. You’ll find food on these rotating monthly menus like oysters with Guinness foam, hot smoked salmon with horseradish beurre blanc, and seaweed ice cream with carmelized brown bread for dessert.

Wonder
Greater Boston and Massachusetts isn’t getting just one, but six Wonder Food Halls following the recent openings of several more in the area. The fast-growing chain of food halls offer its own restaurants — some that partner with celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay and Marcus Samuelsson and offer food like burritos, fried chicken sandwiches, and poke bowls — that patrons can get delivered or eat inside the food hall. Wonder has also partnered with GrubHub to offer delivery from local restaurants outside of its doors.
Open now: Natick, Framingham, Acton, Belmont, and Medford; Opening this year: Newton, Watertown, Canton, Burlington, Brookline, and North Andover

Bonus: Learn about Indian food at Aatma
One of Boston’s newest restaurants, inside Widowmaker Brewery in Brighton, has a question: Who gets to shape Indian food? In their new sessions series, the modern and playful Indian restaurant invites chefs, scholars, writers, and thinkers to discuss the answer. Dr. Krishnendu Ray, a food scholar at New York University, will help lead the first session. Thirty guests are invited to attend the discussion at $23.18 a ticket.
