NFL free agency is in full swing, but the next event for the league is already inching closer with the 2026 NFL draft scheduled for April 23 through 25 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The event, now in its 91st year, will give NFL teams the chance to draft fresh new at a low cost to sound out their 2026-27 squads. It’s where teams build for the future.
For the Seattle Seahawks, they’re coming off a Super Bowl win, so the draft is of even more importance. That’s because the Seahawks are parting with big-named talent whose salaries jotted up after the championship win, so they need to fill those holes with fresh players.
In a Tuesday, March 10, piece for SI, Mark Morales-Smith projects landing spots for the top college players entering the 2026 NFL draft. For the Seahawks, he sees them landing a defensive “stud” to beef up their defense.
He expects the team to take edge Kendric Faulk of Auburn as their No. 32 pic.
“Seattle adds a stud defensive lineman to rotate and keep pressure on opposing offenses. This is how they like to build their defense, and they’ve proven it works,” he states in the piece.

Sadiq’s official draft profile from the NFL describes him as a “long, developing frame, good movement skills and the potential for odd or even fronts once he gains more muscle mass.”
“He’s a culture player with high character who earns a grade bump based on his age (he turns 21 in September), traits and advanced foundation,” they add of the player. “A fluid athlete with good movement skills, he works around blocks with finesse but needs more assertive initial strikes to set firmer edges in gap control.”

Sadiq’s NFL profile also says that he has a “toughness and mentality” that will help him “play through blocks more consistently in an NFL environment.”
So, these are signs of a promising NFL player, and with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald’s defensive background, it appears to be a good fit.
