The shot of the day on Saturday at The Masters came at the par-3 sixth, where Shane Lowry holed out in stunning fashion.
It marked the first hole-in-one of this year’s tournament and helped vault him into contention heading into Sunday’s final round. Lowry now sits at nine-under par, just two shots back of the lead, currently held by Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young at 11-under.
Lowry’s ace was his second at Augusta National, placing him in rare company in the tournament’s history. His first hole-in-one at Augusta came on the 16th hole in 2016.

Lowry has built quite the resume when it comes to aces on the PGA Tour, with Saturday’s shot marking the fifth of his career. Outside of his two at Augusta National, his others have come at Pebble Beach (No. 7), TPC Sawgrass (No. 17), and Memorial Park (No. 2).
On Saturday, Lowry shot four-under par, recording four birdies to go along with his ace. However, he also carded two bogeys, which ultimately proved to be the difference between sitting two shots back and being tied for the lead.
Lowry will be part of the penultimate group on Sunday, teeing off at 2:14 p.m. ET alongside Sam Burns. Meanwhile, Young and McIlroy will make up the final pairing of the day, set to tee off at 2:25 p.m. ET.
