The United States Olympic men’s hockey team is back on home soil, landing in Miami after their stunning gold medal upset over Canada at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
The American men secured gold with a 2-1 final score, capped off by a game-winning overtime goal from Jack Hughes. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck kept his team afloat through regulation, recording a whopping 41 saves.
This championship victory marks the United States’ first Olympic men’s hockey gold medal since the Miracle on Ice in 1980.
The team’s plane was met with a hero’s welcome at Miami International Airport, rolling through an epic water-cannon salute as it taxied toward its gate.
“A hero’s welcome at Miami International Airport and a water salute for Team USA after winning gold in Milan,” NHL Network host Jamison Coyle wrote on social media along with a video.
