Three years later, man arrested for anti-gay hate crime in Harlem train station

Tavaughn Thompson, 25, was arrested at 1:40 p.m. and charged with assault and aggravated harassment as hate crimes for the ruthless 2023 attack.

On Dec. 29, 2023, at around 8:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was taking pictures inside the 125th St. subway station on West 125th St. and Saint Nicholas Ave. in Harlem when Thompson allegedly punched him in the face repeatedly and spat, “Delete that f–king photo of me, f—-t.”

The suspect ran away and the victim suffered minor injuries in the attack.

Police released surveillance photographs and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

Thompson lives in the Bronx, according to police.

He was awaiting arraignment in Manhattan criminal court on Sunday night.
