Iowa State junior Audi Crooks is one of the most dangerous scorers in the NCAA.
The 6-foot-3 center was the second-leading scorer in the NCAA last season, averaging 25.8 points per game — second to only Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes (27 points per game).
But after three years with the Cyclones, Crooks decided it was time for a change of scenery. She hit the transfer portal shortly after the season ended, and she’s been one of the more sought-after players in the country ever since.
As Crooks, a three-time first-team All-Big 12 selection, a second-team All-American, and the 2024 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, weighs her options, she may have hinted at what she may end up next thanks to her social media activity.
Crooks recently followed the Notre Dame women’s basketball team on Instagram in a move that caught plenty of attention online.
“Audi Crooks, the most sought-after transfer portal target of the year, now follows the official Notre Dame WBB account on Instagram as well as head coach Niele Ivey and players Hannah Hidalgo and KK Bransford,” On3’s Tyler Horka reported.
If Crooks were to join the Fighting Irish, they would be the national championship favorite next season, hands down.
Notre Dame already scored a big win days ago when Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Hannah Hidalgo announced she was returning for her senior season. Hidalgo averaged 25.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.6 steals, and 5.2 assists per game last season. She was third in the country in scoring, right behind Crooks.
