One adult was killed and three were left in critical condition Friday evening in West Garfield Park after a shooting, fire officials said.
Gunfire broke out near West Maypole Avenue and North Pulaski Road in West Garfield Park at around 5 p.m. An hour after the shooting, police appeared to be focused on Gotcha Faded, a barbershop at that location. Officers went in and out of the storefront, and officers guarded the entrance.
Fire officials said one person shot during the incident was dead upon arrival. Three other adults were transported in critical condition to area hospitals.
An additional person was transported in stable condition, and was not a gunshot victim, fire officials confirmed.
All of the injured people were adults, according to officials.
Chicago police did not respond for a request for comment.
