Gas leak in South San Jose prompts road closures; public asked to avoid area, fire department says

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — Firefighters in San Jose are responding to a gas leak near the intersection of Cottle Road and Santa Teresa Boulevard on Saturday, which prompted road closures.

The incident was reported around 4 p.m. Authorities have closed down the intersection one block out in all directions.

The public was asked to avoid the area while SJFD investigated the cause of the leak. The department said there was currently no estimated time for reopening the roadways.
