One dead after 2 helicopters crash in New Jersey, police say

HAMMONTON, New Jersey — One person is dead following a helicopter collision in Hammonton, New Jersey.

It happened just before 12 p.m. near Basin Rd and North White Horse Pike.

ABC Philadelphia affiliate WPVI confirmed that at least one person has died and another person was injured after two helicopters collided mid-air.

Hammonton police said both helicopters crash landed and one engulfed in flames.

The FAA and NTSB have been notified and will be investigating the crash, police said.
