Large police presence in Antioch after reports of shooting at Food Maxx

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) — A large police presence is on scene at the Food Maxx in Antioch because of reports of a shooting.

The shooting happened just around 7:30 a.m. near the Food Maxx on 4500 Lone Tree Way in Antioch. Police confirm someone tried to break into the Food Maxx.

Antioch police are working another crime scene Friday morning at Southwood Court, a residential neighborhood.

ABC7 Eyewitness News reporter Anser Hassan is there and says K-9 units have been going through and sniffing garbage cans.

It is unclear if the two incidents are related.

This was also the second shooting in the city in 12 hours, but it’s not clear if they are related as well.

Police say they are working to prepare a statement.
