SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Numerous temperature records are expected to be broken over several days across the Bay Area next week.
According to ABC7 meteorologist Drew Tuma, a major heat risk is set to start on Tuesday with highs forecasted to be 20 to 30 degrees above average.
Drew says San Jose has never seen temps reach the 90s in March, but the city could see three days of temps in the 90s starting Tuesday. He says records in San Jose go back to the 1890s, and they have never seen a 90-degree day in March. The warmest day recorded was 89, back in March 2015.
Over the next few days, the heat risk is rising, with a moderate heat risk set to begin on Sunday.
Today’s forecast
Drew says our heat risk will be minor on Thursday, but expect highs to be 15+ above average in many cities in the 70s and 80s.
The only record in jeopardy Thursday is once again in San Jose at 81.

Moderate Heat Risk begins Sunday with highs in the low 80s to the low 90s.
Major Heat Risk arrives Tuesday when highs are 20 to 25 degrees above average.
