‘Chonkers,’ the giant sea lion stealing hearts at San Francisco’s Pier 39

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The hype is continuing to build around a giant sea lion that’s attracting a lot of attention at San Francisco’s Pier 39.

Marina officials shared this new photo Monday.

The animal is one of two Steller sea lions visiting the Bay.

Experts say they’re much larger than typical sea lions – and can weigh over 2,000 pounds.
