Police respond to armed barricaded subject at Plantation hotel

A large law enforcement presence responded to a Plantation hotel Tuesday night for an armed barricaded subject with active felony warrants, officials said.

Plantation Police and SWAT officers were at the scene of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on North University Drive.

Police advised the public to stay clear of the area.

NBC6 observed nearly two dozen squad cars, including SWAT vehicles, in the parking lot of the hotel.

Witnesses reported hearing loud sirens and seeing officers and SWAT team members swarm the area.
