Car fire closes portion of departure level at Fort Lauderdale airport, causes traffic delays

A car fire was apparently causing some traffic issues at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Thursday.

A large portion of the upper departure level at the airport appeared to be closed due to the fire that broke out near Terminal 3.

The incident was causing some major traffic backups in the area.

It appeared the fire was extinguished. No other details were immediately known.
