Fort Lauderdale police responded to two reports of suspicious packages in different parts of the city on Saturday morning, incidents that investigators believe may be related.
Police were first called at about 10:55 a.m. to the 1900 block of Cordova Road, where a suspicious package was reported outside a location. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s bomb squad responded and determined the contents of the package were not a threat, authorities said.
The investigation into that incident remains ongoing.
A second call came in around 12:04 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Andrews Avenue. Police said a suspicious package was reported at that location, prompting another response from the department’s bomb squad.
While officers were on scene, they were alerted to another suspicious package located nearby, police said. Bomb squad officers remained at the scene Saturday afternoon analyzing both packages.
No injuries were reported, and police have not released additional details.
Authorities said both investigations are ongoing and information remains preliminary.
