1 killed in Davie apartment fire: Fire Rescue

An apartment fire in Davie left a person dead Friday morning, according to Davie Fire Rescue.

Heavy smoke came out of an apartment Friday at 9:53 a.m. in 6857 College Court, where Davie Fire Rescue says they responded to an apartment fire and found a person dead inside.

Images from Chopper 6 show what is presumed to be the body covered with a yellow tarp outside of a residence.

A man who identified himself as a family member told NBC6 at the scene that the deceased is his grandmother. Authorities have not confirmed the victim’s identity.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
