Investigation underway after body found on sand on Hollywood Beach

An investigation is underway after a body was found on Hollywood Beach on Friday morning, authorities said.

Police responded at around 7:15 a.m. to a call about “a possible deceased person near Cleveland Street and the sand.”

Officers arrived on scene and found the body. Information on who the person was or how they died was not immediately available.

Aerial images showed the person’s body partially covered by a white tarp on the sand.

The investigation continues.
