New video captured the moments when SWAT teams arrived at a home in Coconut Creek, where a doctor and a woman were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
According to Coconut Creek Police, officers on Saturday arrived at a home in the 4800 block of Acardian Trail in Coconut Creek’s Paloma Lakes after receiving reports of a shooting.
Ring camera video shows SWAT officers evacuating a building after a call came in of possible gunshots fired inside a townhome.
“Can you please get dressed and exit the home?” an officer was heard saying.
Police said 34-year-old Jean Dominique Foureau shot and killed his live-in girlfriend, 38-year-old Devoudre Petitval, and then turned the gun on himself.
Neighbors told NBC6 that the couple lived at the home for about a year with their 2-year-old son and Petitval’s 14-year-old son.
It’s unclear if the children were home at the time of the shooting.
Police tried for hours to get someone to come to the door before officers fired a flash-bang and eventually made their way inside, and found the couple dead.
Neighbors said they heard the couple screaming and then heard gunshots at around 4 a.m.
Four days after the shooting, the home remains blocked off by police tape.
Neighbors who spoke with NBC6 said Foureau was a traveling doctor and was in the military. They said the couple was kind and there weren’t signs of any trouble.
The couple’s children are being cared for by other family members, police said.
NBC6 has reached out to the family and is waiting to hear back.
