A woman who was spotted going over 100 mph on the Palmetto Expressway was arrested after trying to flee from authorities, officials said.
Daniella Sanchez Suarez, 26, was arrested on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer at high speed and reckless driving, records showed.
According to an arrest report, officers were conducting speed enforcement on the Palmetto Expressway at Northwest 47th Avenue on Sunday when they spotted a blue Range Rover going 103 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The officers tried to stop the vehicle but it accelerated and started fleeing, going erratically and weaving in and out of traffic, the report said.
The vehicle was “cutting vehicles off, traveling from the inside lane across three lanes of travel, back across, and proceeded to pass vehicles on the right-side berm still trying to elude me,” an officer wrote in the report.
When the vehicle finally stopped in traffic, Suarez was ordered to exit and was taken into custody, the report said.
Suarez was booked into jail and appeared before a judge on Monday, who set her bond at $2,500.
