A man is facing attempted murder and other charges after he beat another man with a metal object then ran over him in a Tesla during an attack in Hollywood, police said.
Enrique Agustin Santana, 35, is facing charges of first-degree attempted homicide, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injuries, Hollywood Police said Wednesday.
The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Johnson Street and North State Road 7.
Police said Santana and the 46-year-old victim had been involved in some sort of altercation that led to Santana getting out of his car and hitting the man multiple times on his head with a metal object.
Santana then returned to his Tesla and intentionally struck the man as he was on the sidewalk before fleeing, police said.
The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital and was in the intensive care unit in critical condition.
Later in the day, Santana was taken into custody, and later booked into jail.
Police are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to call them at 954-967-4636.
