A Broward Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was arrested for allegedly bringing contraband into jail, officials said.
Michael Cammallere, 28, was arrested by BSO’s Public Corruption Unit on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
Cammallere faces one count each of introducing contraband into a county detention facility and official misconduct.
Officials haven’t given any other details on his arrest including what contraband was allegedly brought into the facility.
Cammallere, who was hired in October 2023, was placed on administrative investigative leave without pay.
