A homeowner says a heater is to blame for a fire at his Miramar home early Monday morning
Miramar Fire Rescues said they got the call at about 3:30 a.m. and responded to a house on fire in the 2900 block of Buttonwood Avenue.
“Upon arrival crews noted an active working fire,” fire rescue said. “All residents were evacuated from the home, the fire was extinguished and no additional structures became involved.”
The Fire Marshal is on the scene to investigate the cause, but the homeowner believes he knows what started it.
“I turned off the power from the heater, then in a couple more minutes I started opening all the doors and there was smoke coming out,” he said. “Two or three minutes later… we hear some explosions.”
No injuries were reported.
