Today is the day: the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games kicks off in just a few hours. Don’t miss a moment; here’s how to watch.
The city has been preparing for this very moment. There’s so much to take in, but here’s a few of my favorite tidbits:
- The Olympic torch was brought yesterday to Milan.
- This will be the first time that there will be two Olympic cauldrons – one in Milan, the other in Cortina.
- The Opening Ceremony itself will be held at Milan’s iconic San Siro Stadium – with close to 80,000 people in attendance.
- The events will feature performances by Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.
There will be activations with simultaneous ceremonies and parades in Predazzo, Livigno and Cortina. The idea is to bring the athletes who are spread out across the country closer to each other, as well as to the fans.
Got to run, there’s so much still to do before the Opening Ceremony. Ciao for now!
