A huge brawl left at least four people hurt on Thursday morning at a nightclub in Hallandale Beach, according to authorities.
Hallandale Beach police said they were called to the Amsterdam Club located on South Federal Highway “due to a large fight involving approximately 15 to 20 individuals.”
There, officers saw “an active physical altercation between multiple parties.”
One person was seen trying to violently strike another individual on the ground, so officers used their Tasers “to immediately stop the assault.”
Police said two people were arrested and charged with resisting without violence. Their names were not immediately released.
Meanwhile, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue said first responders took four people to the hospital “with various traumatic injuries.”
Arrests and injuries
According to police, at least one person “was detained during the incident and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Body-worn camera footage later confirmed he fell during the chaotic scene.” He was treated and released from the hospital.
Another man fell during the chaos and suffered a laceration after landing on broken glass that had been thrown during the fight, police said. He was also taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Another victim suffered a head injury before police got there, but that person “declined to cooperate and signed a waiver of prosecution,” police said.
Several other individuals involved fled the scene, authorities said.
The brawl is still under investigation and anyone with information or videos is encouraged to contact police at (954) 457-1400 or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
