Large law enforcement operation involving CBP underway in western Broward

A large law enforcement operation was underway in western Broward County on Thursday.

Multiple agencies including U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Broward Sheriff’s Office were in a rural area off U.S. 27 south of Interstate 75 near Weston.

Multiple deputies were at the scene and a BSO helicopter was circling overhead.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed at least two people who appeared to be detained.

BSO officials said they were assisting in an investigation but gave no other details.
