Andrew Torgashev is back on the ice on Friday.
The 24-year-old from Coral Springs, Florida, skated to a personal best on Tuesday in the men’s singles short program in his Olympic debut at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
Now, he’ll try to keep up the momentum for the men’s free skate at 1 p.m. ET.
Torgashev will be skating for Team USA, along with Maxim Naumov and the “Quad God” Ilia Malinin, who is a favorite to take the gold.

Who is Andrew Torgashev?
Torgashev solidified his Team USA spot on Jan. 10 when he finished second in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Torgashev is the son of competitive skaters Ilona Melnichenko and Artem Torgashev of the Soviet Union. They coached him until the age of 16 at the Panthers Figure Skating Club in Coral Springs. He later relocated to Colorado before landing in Irvine, California to continue training.
Torgashev became a silver medalist at the U.S. Championships in 2025, and he earned a bronze medal at the 2024 Grand Prix de France. He now joins Team USA in pursuit of bringing home a medal from Italy.
