Hot days and then a dramatic cool down–that’s what our weekend and first few days of next week have in store.
Let’s start with the weekend. While morning numbers have been nice with widespread 60s and a few locations topping 70 degrees, temperatures are really going to pop, especially each afternoon.
We are forecasting mid-80s both Friday and Saturday, with possible mid- to upper-80s on Sunday.
Factor in the humidity, and we are talking about feels-like temperatures above 90 degrees.
What about the cold front?
Our cold front is still expected to arrive Sunday late afternoon or evening and the temperatures are going to tumble.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a temperature drop of more than 40 degrees from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning, the coolest morning of the bunch.
How cool? Widespread mid-40 degrees, with a breeze.
A chance for rain?
The other story is our drought. We need the rain, and we have small chance on Sunday.
We probably won’t see enough rain to help much, but we will take anything we can get.
