A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a car in Hollywood Friday morning, police said.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. near the 900 block of N. Federal Highway, Hollywood Police officials said.
The pedestrian and the driver were taken to a local hospital as trauma alerts, police said.
A witness said the pedestrian was struck while sitting at a bus bench and that the car was flying.
“What it sounded like was an explosion and so when I looked to my right I seen the car going down and a whole bunch of debris flying up and crashing,” the witness said. “And I was just going to call 911 and go on about my day but when I looked over at the bus stop I saw a gentleman laying on the ground rolling around in pain.”
The witness said what he saw next left him in shock.
“I got out the car to make sure the guy was okay and he kept saying he doesn’t have his legs so we called the ambulance and I stayed to comfort him until the ambulance came,” the witness said.
No other details have been released, but police said the crash is under investigation.
