A lockdown is in effect at two schools in Southwest Ranches, according to the Archdiocese of Miami.
St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic School and Archbishop McCarthy High School were locked down “due to police activity in the nearby area,” a statement from the Archdiocese of Miami reads.
Videos show a law enforcement presence, including U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, nearby.
“This of course is a precautionary measure and all staff, faculty, and students are safe,” the archdiocese continued.
