A man who allegedly breached a security checkpoint at Miami International Airport and pushed a U.S. Transportation Security Administration officer was arrested, authorities said.
Livan Castillo, 27, of Miami was arrested Tuesday at MIA on charges of battery and violating a designated operational area of an airport, an arrest report said.
According to the report, Castillo entered the secured side of a terminal by going through the known crew member line, which is one of the exits from the secured side.
“There are multiple clear signs in the area, do not enter and no trespassing, restricted area,” the report said.
TSA officers saw Castillo breach the checkpoint through the exit doors before he pushed one TSA officer and ran towards a gate, the report said.
Castillo was taken into custody at the gate but due to his actions, the security checkpoint had to be shut down for several minutes, “causing minor delays and interrupting airport operations,” the report said.
Due to Castillo’s “erratic behavior” no formal interview was conducted before he was arrested and booked into jail, the report said.
