A man is facing a murder charge in the killing of his roommate in Pompano Beach, authorities said.
The incident began when deputies responded to a call of a dead person inside a home in the 2900 block of Northwest 2nd Street around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.
The victim, 39-year-old Karim Shouman, was found dead inside the kitchen, officials said.
Detectives discovered Shouman had been involved in ongoing arguments with his roommate, 33-year-old Shenard Jennings, officials said.
Things escalated and Jennings punched and beat Shouman, killing him, authorities said.
Jennings was arrested and booked into jail on a first-degree murder charge.
