Possible fatal crash investigated near Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise

Police were investigating a possible fatal crash at an intersection near the Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise on Wednesday.

The incident was reported in the area of W. Sunrise Boulevard east of Northwest 136th Avenue.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed what appeared to be a body covered by a tarp in the roadway next to a pickup truck.

Officers were at the scene and had the area closed off by yellow police tape.

No other details were immediately known.
