As South Florida prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, community leaders in Miami on Tuesday are pushing for fair wages and safe working conditions.
A press conference is being held at the Government Center at 10 a.m.
The World Cup is coming to three North American countries this summer, where 48 teams will duke it out in the tournament for the first time. It’s an increase from the previous 32-team field.
The 2026 tournament will run from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19.

- June 15: Saudia Arabia and Uruguay in Group H
- June 21: Uruguay and Cape Verde in Group H
- June 24: Scotland and Brazil in Group C
- June 27: Colombia and Portugal in Group K
Round of 32
- July 3: Winner of Group J will face off against runner-up of Group H
Quarterfinal
- July 11: Winner of match 91 will face off against winner of match 92
Third-place match
- July 18: The loser of match 101 will face off against the loser of match 102
