A woman is heard asking for help after she was assaulted by a man who authorities said exposed himself in Weston in a new 911 call from the moments after the frightening attack that was caught on camera.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on April 8 near the 16500 block of Golf Club Road, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.
In the new 911 call released Thursday, the woman is heard speaking through a Spanish translator to describe what had just happened.
“I usually walk here inside the condo…I was sitting on the hill, like to rest and watch them play golf and suddenly someone jumped me from behind,” the woman said. “I turned over immediately and I defend myself.”
Surveillance video released by BSO on Friday showed the suspect exposing and pleasuring himself in an adjacent parking lot before he slowly approached the victim, removed his shoes and grabbed her from behind.
Authorities are searching for a man who they said was caught on camera assaulting a woman and exposing himself in Weston.
A struggle ensued before he eventually got up, put on his shoes and ran to a nearby scooter and fled the scene.
“In the moment that he heard me talking in Spanish he like just ran away,” the woman said in the 911 call.
The woman gave a description of the suspect as she was told deputies were on the way.
“I’m shaking,” she said. “I don’t want this to happen to other people, especially the younger ones that walks around here because it’s supposed to be a safe neighborhood.”
Authorities are searching for the suspect, who was wearing a khaki hoodie and distinctive red and black pants, and are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
