Child hurt after SUV slams into furniture store in North Miami

A car crashed into a North Miami furniture store early Friday morning, causing major damage and sending a child to the hospital.

Video shows extensive damage at the Arona Home Essentials on Northwest 126th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said one pediatric patient was taken by private ambulance to a hospital after the crash.

The general manager of the store told NBC6 he received an alert just before 6 a.m., and when he got to the business, he found that a white Audi SUV had plowed straight through.

The footage shows the entire front wall of the store torn off, with glass scattered across the sidewalk and inside. The SUV rests among the furniture and decor.

The general manager said an engineer is on the way to help determine whether the structure is safe to be in.
