A brush fire in the Everglades in western Broward continued to burn Wednesday as crews battled the blaze.
The fire was burning just west of U.S. 27 about 12 miles west of Coral Springs.
As of Wednesday morning, the fire was up to 5,000 acres burned and was 25 percent contained, Florida Forest Service officials said.
There were no threats to homes or structures and no major impacts to local roadways, as U.S. 27 remained open, officials said.
It was unclear how long crews would be fighting the fire, officials said.
