A woman was arrested after authorities said nearly a dozen patients were found in a Miami-Dade home that was operating as an illegal post-surgery recovery home.
Yordanka Garcia-Olazabal, 50, was arrested Thursday on a charge of operating an assisted living facility without a license, records showed.
According to an arrest report, authorities had received an anonymous complaint about post-surgery services being provided at a home in the 12700 block of Southwest 42nd Terrace.
An investigation revealed the home was being operated as a recovery house without a license under Garcia-Olazabal, the report said.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the home and found two employees who provided patients assistance with things like bathing, dressing, eating, using the toilet, personal hygiene, medication and transportation, the report said.
They also found 11 patients present who said they were charged $300 per night for the services, the report said.
Garcia-Olazabal was arrested and booked into jail.
