The PGA tour is returning to Miami this week for the first time since 2016 with the 2026 Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral.
Practice rounds and the pro-am tournament will take place on Wednesday before some of the top golfers in the world will compete for a massive purse beginning on Thursday and running through Sunday.
Here’s everything to know about the golf tournament:
The Course
The Cadillac Championship is being held on Trump National Doral’s famed Blue Monster Course, a par 72, 7,739-yard track that truly fits the monster moniker.
Originally founded in 1962 as part of Doral Country Club, the course was designed by famed architect Dick Wilson, who designed or renovated dozens of courses including Bay Hill in Orlando and Pine Tree in Boynton Beach.

The architect team of Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner overhauled the Blue Monster in 2014, transforming it into what it is today.
The Blue Monster hosted the Doral Open beginning in 1962 and running until 2007, when the tournament became the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
In 2012, Donald Trump’s Trump Organization purchased the resort and changed its name to Trump National Doral.

In 2016, the PGA left the Blue Monster and moved the tournament to Mexico City, and the course has hosted LIV golf tournaments the past four years.
The 2026 tournament will be the 56th time a PGA Tour event is held at the Blue Monster.
It’s one of nine current venues on The PGA Tour that has been on the schedule for more than a half-century joining the likes of Augusta National, Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines.
The Money
The Cadillac Championship is one of eight Signature Events on the PGA Tour, which means big bucks will be on the line.
The total purse for the Cadillac Championship is $20 million, which is tied for the fourth-highest purse of the year behind the Tour Championship’s $40 million, the Players Championship’s $25 million and the Masters with $22.5 million.

The winner of the 2026 Cadillac Championship will earn a $3.6 million payday, while the runner-up will receive $2.16 million and third place earns $1.36 million.
Even last place will earn you $36,000, which isn’t bad for a few days on the links.
The Golfers
The Cadillac Championship will showcase 72 of the best players on the PGA Tour, beginning with the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler, who has never played the Blue Monster as a pro.
In addition to Scheffler, seven of the Top 10 players in the world will be competing, including Cameron Young at No. 4, Justin Rose at No. 5, Collin Morikawa at No. 6, Tommy Fleetwood at No. 7, Russell Henley at No. 8 and J.J. Spaun at No. 10.
Those not playing this week include No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No. 9 Xander Schauffele.
Many of the top golfers in the world were previous winners at Doral, including the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Nick Faldo.

Tiger Woods won on the Blue Monster four times, in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2013. Woods and Phil Mickelson share the 72-hole Blue Monster course record at 19-under.
Adam Scott will be playing this week and was the winner the last time the PGA played at Doral, in 2016. Rose also won at Doral in 2012.
