A man who was previously arrested twice for inappropriate behavior at businesses in Burbank and arrested after a parole and sex-registrant compliance check in Glendale was sentenced this week to 99 days in jail for a parole violation.
At his arraignment earlier this week, 39-year-old Calese Crowder was found to have violated the terms of his parole and sentenced to time in the county jail.
Crowder was arrested Nov. 24 after failing to meet an annual sex-offender registration requirement for more than two months, Glendale police told NBC4 Investigates. The Glendale Police Department Assaults Unit arrested Crowder, dubbed by authorities as “butt-sniffer,” at his residence.
Crowder was on parole for a burglary. After the November arrest, the department placed a parole hold on Crowder, which does not allow for bail. Inmates under a parole hold usually remain in custody until they’re released through the parole process or a judge’s order.
In July, Crowder was arrested at the Burbank Nordstrom Rack after reports of someone roaming the women’s department and sexually harassing a female customer, according to the Burbank Police Department.
A victim is speaking out after a 38-year-old registered sex offender was arrested again for allegedly engaging in lewd behavior towards a woman at a store in Burbank. This video was broadcast on the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on July 24, 2025.
“Using the store’s surveillance system, officers monitored the suspect as he moved through various departments. While in the women’s section, the suspect was observed following a female customer, crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks,” police said in a statement in July.
In August, Crowder was arrested again after allegedly sniffing a woman’s behind inside a Walgreens store in Burbank.
Crowder has a history of similar offenses in Glendale and Burbank dating back to 2021, according to police.
