Two people were rescued Friday afternoon from Malibu after their paraglides crashed into the ocean Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told NBC4 Investigates.
Deputies were sent to Pacific Coast Highway near Carbon Canyon Road after receiving a call about people in the water, yelling for help.
When the responding deputies saw two people in the water, they took off their tactical gear, jumped into the water and swam out nearly 100 feet offshore, the LASD Lost Hills Station said.
The deputies had to cut the parachute that were attacked to the people as the equipment was dragging them underwater.
The two people were safely pulled out of the water without any injuries.
