Firefighters rescue driver after beam falls on his car in Ontario

A man was rescued after a beam fell on top of his car on the highway in Ontario early Thursday morning. 

The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway after a semi truck hit a bridge that was under construction.

Firefighters had to use heavy equipment to free the driver. 

He was transported to the hospital and appeared to be alert and conscious. 

A Sigalert was issued in the area and several lanes of the freeway were closed for the cleanup and investigation.
