Man arrested for possession of illegal fireworks in Burbank

A man was arrested on Friday for possession of illegal fireworks after officers searched his car, the Burbank Police Department said. 

Officers spotted a red Toyota SUV blocking an alleyway behind a business at around 3:20 p.m. on the 3500 block of Burbank Boulevard. 

When officers spoke to the driver, identified as John Benne, they learned that he was on probation and conducted a search of his vehicle. 

They found multiple illegal fireworks, including bottle rockets and a container filled with firecrackers, the department said.
