Law enforcement officers served a search warrant Wednesday morning at the home and office of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, according to multiple law enforcement sources.
The DOJ confirmed that a search was being carried out. Other law enforcement sources told NBC4 Investigates that the searches are at Carvalho’s home and office.
Details about the search were not immediately available.
NBCLA has reached out to the school district for comment.
An affidavit filed in connection with the law enforcement operation was under seal, authorities said.
Carvalho has been chief of the nation’s second-largest school system since February 2022. He was unanimously reappointed by the school board last year.
