Born in Chicago, Runyon’s film debut came in 1980 with the holiday horror film “To All a Goodnight.” In the 1984 hit “Ghostbusters,” Runyon played a student quizzed in a psychokinesis experiment by Dr. Peter Venkman, portrayed by actor Bill Murray.
She went on to play Gwendolyn Pierce in “Charles in Charge.” The 1980s sitcom featured actor Scott Baio as a college student who accepts a job as a couple’s live-in housekeeper and caretaker for three children. Charles also pursued a relationship with fellow student Gwendolyn Pierce.
Runyon played Cindy Brady in the film “A Very Brady Christmas” and appeared on the daytime soap opera “Another World” from 1981-83. She had guest appearances on “Quantum Leap” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
Runyon married college basketball coach Todd Corman in 1991. The couple had two children.
In a 2024 interview for a podcast, Runyon talked about her work with at-risk high school youth.
Daughter Bayley Corman shared a tribute to her mother with photos on Instagram.
“All of the best parts of me came from you. I would give anything for one more day together,” Corman wrote.
