Two people were rescued Wednesday after their small aircraft landed on an embankment upside down at Cable Airport in Upland.
Fire crews responded to the public-use airport at around 10:30 a.m. and found the single-engine plane resting on the airport fencing along Dewey Road, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Among two people onboard, the pilot was not injured while a female elderly passenger was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
As the Federal Aviation Administration investigates the incident, San Bernardino County fire officials said the Cessna 210 may not have been able to stop within the runway distance and hit the soil embankment before being overturned.
