Ohio man charged after mistakenly sending meth through bank drive-thru: Police

An Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly sent methamphetamines through a bank drive-thru tube by mistake.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Jason Smith was arrested after sending the substance through the air tube at a bank in Woodsfield, a community located in the southeast corner of the state.

The sheriff’s office reports that Smith visited the bank on December 3.

Deputies were called to the bank after a substance was sent through the air tube in the drive-thru of the facility.

That substance was contained in a small baggie, and was described as a “crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine,” according to police.

The substance was allegedly sent through the air tube by Smith by mistake, police said.

Deputies, using a K9 dog, discovered additional drugs and drug-related items in Smith’s truck, according to a press release. He was taken into custody at the scene.

He was booked in the Monroe County Jail, and faces drug-related charges in the case, officials said.
