The Chicago Bears will be without their normal backup quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
The team announced Sunday that quarterback Tyson Bagent will not play after he was listed as questionable due to an illness.
Instead, Case Keenum will dress as the backup quarterback for the first time this season, with Caleb Williams still getting the start at a frigid Soldier Field.
Wide receiver Rome Odunze, who was listed as questionable with a foot injury that kept him out of last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, will play on Sunday, the team said.
Despite being cleared to play Sunday after missing last week’s game with a shoulder injury, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite will be inactive for the Bears against the Browns.
Running back Travis Homer won’t play as he deals with a knee injury, and defensive lineman Dominique Robinson, wide receiver Jahdae Walker and defensive lineman Jonathan Ford are the other inactive players for Sunday’s game.
For the Browns, tackle Jack Conklin was listed as out with a concussion, while tight end David Njoku won’t play as he deals with a knee issue. Guard Wyatt Teller was out with a calf injury, as was cornerback Denzel Ward.
Running back Dylan Sampson was ruled out with calf and hand injuries, and defensive tackle Adin Huntington was out with a quad injury.
Offensive guard Zak Zinter, who was listed as questionable with a back injury, will not play for the Browns.
DT Mason Graham, OG Joel Bitonio, WR Malachi Corley, and WR Cedric Tillman, who were questionable for the game, will all suit up for Cleveland.
Kickoff between the Bears and Browns is set for noon, with the game airing on Fox.
