President Donald Trump is set to deliver a live, prime-time address from the White House on Wednesday, but what is it for and what will he discuss?
Trump, announcing his plans in a post on his social media site, said he will speak live from the White House at 8 p.m. CST.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the president will discuss what he accomplished this year, the first of his second term, and his plans for the next three years.
A senior administration official told NBC News the president is not expected to roll out new policies in the address, but may address recent moves by his administration.
“My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST,” Trump wrote in his post. “I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
Further details on the address were not immediately released.
NBC News is expected to provide special coverage of the report, which will play in the video above once it begins.
